PRESIDENT TRUMP ANNOUNCES 2025 KENNEDY CENTER HONORS CLASS — A STAR-STUDDED LINEUP

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In a surprise appearance at the Kennedy Center, President Donald J. Trump personally unveiled the honorees for the 48th Annual Kennedy Center Honors, set to take place later this year.

Trump, who said he initially declined but later agreed to host the ceremony, called the 2025 class of honorees “truly exceptional” and “among the greatest talents in the world.”

This year’s honorees include:

  • George Strait — The “King of Country,” with over 120 million records sold, 60 No. 1 hits, and more platinum albums than any other living American artist.

  • Michael Crawford — The legendary stage actor, best known for originating The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway, earning him international acclaim and a Tony Award.

  • Sylvester Stallone — Actor, director, and screenwriter whose Rocky and Rambo franchises have grossed more than $7.5 billion worldwide.

  • Gloria Gaynor — Disco icon behind the timeless anthem I Will Survive, who later won a Grammy in 2020 for her gospel album Testimony.

  • KISS — The iconic rock band formed in New York City in 1973, known for their explosive live shows and more than 100 million records sold worldwide.

Calling it “one of the most anticipated Kennedy Center Honors evenings in history,” Trump praised each recipient, often weaving in personal anecdotes — from remembering Crawford’s Broadway debut to recalling Stallone’s rise from poverty with Rocky.

The President also teased that KISS may perform something “very special” during the event.

“People are going to be very proud,” Trump said. “We have some of the greatest honorees ever.”

The Kennedy Center Honors will be held later this year in Washington, D.C., continuing its legacy since 1978 as one of America’s most prestigious celebrations of the performing arts.
